| In the case of every day bicycles it has been demonstrated time and again that because of the properties of the material handlebars made of steel are a better choice. In comparison to aluminium, steel has considerably greater stability, toughness and durability. Because of its elasticity and give, steel is better able to absorb the kind of stress peaks which result from high dynamic loads such as the impact of hitting the curb or when the bike falls over. A further advantage is that because of its high breaking strain steel is not so susceptible to cracking and breaking. |
